It’s often the small but powerful tools that make the daily Reality Capturing work in your construction projects a lot easier. Thanks to your great feedback, we have been working on some “small things” in the HoloBuilder Enterprise Dashboard and Web Editor that will certainly improve your user experience. Allow us to introduce you to those small but powerful tools and don’t miss the chance to boost your team’s efficiency right now.

If you are in a hurry please find an overview of all changes at a glance below:

Enterprise Dashboard

  • JobSite Analytics — See and compare stats from projects across your organization.
  • Switch between card- and list view of your projects.
  • Improved sorting and search functionality — Fast display of relevant user and project information.
  • Add team members from existing projects for an improved project set-up workflow.
  • Adjust access level and share projects in the Enterprise Dashboard — No need to switch between Dashboard and Web Editor too often.

Web Editor

  • Download screenshots with timestamps — Quickly save and share specific views for e.g. progress control.
  • Add watermarks to your images — Ensure important information like “For official use only” is always visible to every stakeholder with access to the project.
  • Add Categories in Scene Settings — Improved workflow for setting up Scene Categories.
  • More integrations and functionalities — Exchange images and sheets with your data from your connected providers, namely Procore, PlanGrid and Bluebeam.

JobSite Analytics

Powerful project insights are all about having the right information about your construction projects at hand at the right time. Thanks to HoloBuilder’s brand new JobSite Analytics engine, you will be able to get real time updates on what work has been performed in your HoloBuilder projects:

  1. See stats on projects across your organization, compare the different projects in your organization.
  2. Know what work got done, and what work is still to be done.
  3. Gain an overview of how much and how often people captured on your projects.
Benefit from powerful project insights with JobSite Analytics in the Enterprise Dashboard

Embedded in HoloBuilder’s Enterprise Dashboard, you will be able to see all ongoing projects activities and their status. Always know when capturing has been completed and when capturing is still going on!

JobSite Analytics include:

  • Number of projects captured
  • Number of 360° images
  • Number of sheets uploaded
  • Number of sq. ft. in use

Just head over to the Enterprise Dashboard and try out the Analytics feature in the left sidebar or schedule a demo with a representative if you don’t have an account with Enterprise Dashboard yet.

Better overview & faster setup

Efficiency is also about discovery of information. You can save a lot of time (and nerves) when you find a specific HoloBuilder project or user as fast as possible. For a generally improved overview in the Enterprise Dashboard we implemented new sorting and searching options. Furthermore, you can now invite teams from existing projects to save time during project setup.

Card- and List-View
Display your active projects in Card- or List-View just the way you prefer to get a clear overview over your projects. With the simple click of one button in the right top corner you can change the view. Card-View is great to see a bigger preview image and get a glimpse of the project while List-View is helpful to scroll through a large number of projects fast.

Sorting & Searching for Users and Projects
Sort your projects by the criteria that is of biggest interest: Area size, client or project name, creation date or modification date. Alternatively, you can directly search them by their name for quick results. Especially for large enterprises with many ongoing construction projects this improvement will be useful to prevent them from spending unnecessary time for finding the project that’s currently of interest. Both sorting and searching options are available in the top left bar.

Invite group of collaborators from existing projects
Saving time and keeping up with the project’s time schedule is one of the most important aims in construction. Knowing that, we want to keep the time for setting up a HoloBuilder project as low as possible. There is no need to invite the same people over again to related projects. Simply invite a group of collaborators as a whole from existing projects to others. The Group Manager and Project Manager are set automatically according to the configuration of the other project. You can still exchange either individually if necessary. Edit the project member group before adding to meet your specific project requirements. Start directly in the project content creation without fumbling with the collaborator invites.

No need to invite the same users over and over again — just invite a group of collaborators from existing projects

If a project already has been created and you forgot to add the team, no problem, the feature is of course also included for inviting new members to an existing project.

More actions from within the Enterprise Dashboard

To successfully manage all your active projects and keep the overview about who is working on what, you are using the HoloBuilder Enterprise Dashboard. For a fast and simple post-processing, e.g. by adding notes and documents to your 360° progress documentation, you are using the HoloBuilder Web Editor. To reduce switching time between the two interfaces and thus increase efficiency we implemented two new actions directly from within the Enterprise Dashboard: You are now able to change the project’s access level as well as share a HoloBuilder project to your colleagues and stakeholders with a single click of a button. Just head over to your Enterprise Dashboard and experience how easy it is to manage your team from there!

Changing access Level and sharing projects
There is no need to switch between the Web Editor and the Enterprise Dashboard anymore to change the access level of your HoloBuilder Projects. Simply set the access level to private or unlisted for any project from within the Enterprise Dashboard’s project overview. Click on the little pen icon in the right top corner to edit the properties, change the access level via the drop down and save. That’s it!

Change the project’s access level from within the Dashboard and directly share it to your stakeholders

Furthermore, if the level is set to unlisted, you can now easily share your project to anyone right from within the Enterprise Dashboard. Therefore, click the share icon on the right side at the top and a link to your HoloBuilder project will be created automatically. You can either copy the link to send it directly to your colleagues or click on “Send Mail” to open your email program for sharing the project link.

WebEditor

We did not only improve our Enterprise Dashboard, but also made the HoloBuilder Web Editor more powerful with some handy additions.

Adding extra info to a scene

It’s often required to know not only the content, but the meta data or detailed information about a specific scene, for example its capturing date. Therefore, we have embedded some handy small tools that allow you to include this data when working with your 360° images.

Add timestamp to screenshot downloads
Another feature that you have often asked for is the possibility to download a screenshot of a scene as JPEG image including a timestamp. With just one click you can either enable or disable the timestamp that shows the capturing date as a timestamp. All you need to do to enable the timestamp is going to the Project Properties panel, hit the Customize tab and click on “Enable” next to “Show Name & Date on Screenshot Download”. Save your changes and from now on all your screenshot downloads will consist of the scene’s name and a timestamp.

Add the scene’s name and a timestamp to a screenshot

Add a watermark to a 360° image
The content of many 360° projects is confidential, but has to be shared amongst stakeholders. In this case you can now tell everybody who opens that project that it is “for internal use only” by adding a watermark to your scene! Of course, this is only one scenario for using the watermark feature: You can now add any text you like as a watermark to your 360° images. Just head over to the Project Properties panel, hit the Customize tab and click on “Enable” next to “Enable Custom Watermark”. A field will open up below that allows you to enter the text that you’d like to show up in your picture. After entering the text, save your changes and it will appear as a decent line at the top and bottom of the scene. Of course, from now on all your screenshot downloads will contain the watermark inside the image as well.

Add Categories in Scene Settings

With the goal of minimizing necessary steps to perform common workflows, we have made it easier to add a new Category to a HoloBuilder Project. Previously you had to open the Project’s Properties in order to add a new Category, while applying Categories to a certain scene usually happens from the the Scene Settings panel. We understood that switching back to the Project Properties panel for adding a new Category was an unnecessary step. So now you can just open the Categories tab in the Scene Settings panel and hit the new “Add Category” button to directly add and edit Categories. Once you added a new Category, you can also directly apply it to the scene.

Latest integrations

With our growing integrations portfolio it’s easier than ever for you to seamlessly move between your favorite construction software tools. It makes almost no difference where you prefer to store your data - you can now easily access them from within the HoloBuilder Web Editor. Say goodbye to more data silos! Directly import your sheets and images from PlanGrid, Procore or Bluebeam when adding or replacing scenes or sheets.

Directly connect your other software provider accounts with HoloBuilder to import sheets & 360° images.

For a super easy start, you can even log-in with your Bluebeam or Procore credentials to HoloBuilder and reduce password fatigue. And did you know that when you are sharing a project with your stakeholders they can log-in with their Bluebeam or Procore credentials, too?

What do you think about the latest changes? Would you like to suggest an addition that would make your life much easier? We would love to read your thoughts in a response below the article or in an email at buildingtogether@holobuilder.com.

We are looking forward to hearing from you! And if you liked this article, leave us some 👏s! Thank you 🙂
